Can homeowners with a driveway get an EV charger grant?
Usually not. The home grant closed to homeowners in standard houses in April 2022. It still covers renters, flat owners and homes without off-street parking. If you own a house with a driveway, our fixed fitted prices from £916 are the full story, with nothing added on the day.
Who qualifies for the £350 EV chargepoint grant?
You likely qualify if you rent your home, own a flat, or have no off-street parking and use a cross-pavement charging solution. You also need an eligible electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, and the charger must be fitted by an OZEV-approved installer like us.
How is the grant paid?
You never handle the money. The installer claims the grant, so we deduct it from your quote up front and recover it from the scheme ourselves. The price you approve is the price you pay.
Can I apply for an EV charger grant myself?
No. Every scheme pays through an OZEV-approved installer rather than the customer, which is also why a DIY or unapproved installation can never be grant-funded. Choosing an approved installer is what unlocks the funding.
Do schools really get £2,000 per socket?
State-funded schools, academies and trusts can claim the uplifted Workplace Charging Scheme rate of up to £2,000 per socket, for up to 40 sockets. Independent schools claim the standard £500 business rate. We confirm which applies before anything is signed.
I work from home. Can my business claim the workplace grant?
Often, yes. If your home is registered as the primary place of business with Companies House, or appears on a non-domestic rates bill, and you have dedicated off-street parking, you can claim the £500 Workplace Charging Scheme grant for a charger on your own driveway. The charger must be a model OZEV approves for commercial use, and we pick a qualifying one with you.
