School EV charger installation, with the higher grant claimed for you
School EV charger installation for staff and visitor parking, planned around the school day. State-funded schools claim up to £2,000 per socket, and we handle the paperwork.

What school EV charging gives you
- Staff cars charge during the school day
- Visitor, minibus and pool car charging
- A higher grant rate than businesses get
- Installed around the school day and holidays
- Safety-first siting, signage and bay marking
- Ready for electric minibuses as fleets switch
Up to £2,000 per socket for state-funded schools
The Workplace Charging Scheme pays state-funded schools, academies and trusts up to £2,000 per charge point socket, for up to 40 sockets per site. Businesses get £500; the school rate is four times higher, and it makes many school installations mostly grant-funded.
We prepare and submit the application as part of the job, and your quote shows the price with the grant already deducted. If you're an independent school, the standard £500 per socket still applies and we claim that instead.

Install & handover
Installation is scheduled around the school day, at weekends or in holidays. We certify everything, mark out bays and hand over to your site team.
We plan every school job with your site team and follow your safeguarding procedures while on site. Most installations happen at weekends or in the holidays, so the car park is back to normal before anyone returns.

Commercial EV chargingSchool EV charging questions
How much grant funding can schools get for EV chargers?
State-funded schools and education institutions can claim up to £2,000 per charge point socket through the Workplace Charging Scheme, for up to 40 sockets. That is four times the £500 per socket businesses receive. We check eligibility and submit the application for you.
Are academies and multi-academy trusts eligible?
Yes. The higher grant rate covers state-funded schools including academies and multi-academy trusts. Independent schools can still claim under the standard Workplace Charging Scheme at £500 per socket. We confirm which rate applies to you before anything is signed.
When would the installation work happen?
Around your school, not around us. Most school installations are scheduled for weekends or holidays, and any work during term time is planned with your site team so the car park and access routes stay safe and available.
Who can use the chargers once installed?
That is the school’s choice. Most start with staff and visitor charging controlled by app or fob. Some schools open chargers to the community outside school hours as a small income stream, and the chargers we fit support paid access if you want that later.
How long does a school EV charger installation take?
A typical two-charger installation is completed in a day. Bigger projects, or sites needing a supply upgrade, take longer and are programmed around the school calendar. Your fixed quote includes the timeline.
What does it cost after the grant?
At up to £2,000 per socket, many school installations see the grant cover the majority of the project. The exact figure depends on charger count and cable runs, and your quote shows the full price and the grant side by side.
